What to Expect
Patients typically come to the dentist with something specific in mind: "I just need a cleaning," "This tooth is hurting," "I want a pretty smile." We completely understand - that's why every new patient visit begins with a conversation about your wants and needs for your oral health. At our practice, we believe in the concept of "complete dentistry" - the school of thought that everything from your bite to your smile is important for having a healthy mouth. Every new patient will receive a thorough, comprehensive exam with Dr. Cox and our team. You can expect to spend around an hour with our team during your comprehensive exam. We'll closely examine your teeth and gums, your bite, airway and smile, and we'll check for any signs of disease or inflammation. We will take necessary x-rays and photographs, and if needed we may make models of the mouth and joints to fully assess your individual needs.
After the exam, Dr. Cox will sit down with you, one-on-one, to provide an overview of your oral health and discuss how to address any problems or concerns that you have. We will work with you to make sure that you have an understanding of what a healthy mouth means, and we will help you understand how you can achieve a healthy mouth and attractive smile that you can maintain for a lifetime.

Fees and Insurance
Some of the most common questions we receive deal with insurance. If you have dental insurance, we will help you get the most out of your insurance benefits. If we are in network with your insurance provider, payment for your treatment passes directly from your insurance provider to our office. Depending on your insurance company's policies, there may be an out-of-pocket portion of payment for which you are responsible. If we are not in network with your insurance provider, we charge our standard fee for treatment, and payment comes from the insurance company to you directly. Our staff will help you file any needed claims and paperwork. If you have questions about your particular insurance plan, please contact our staff - we are more than happy to have a conversation or meet with you to make sure you're maximizing your benefits.
What if you don't have insurance, or your insurance plan doesn't cover treatments you need?
Our in-office Dental Savings Plan is a simple and affordable way to ensure that you can get the treatment you need in a way that fits your budget. An annual membership fee covers preventive care, exams and x-rays, and members receive a discount on our standard treatment fees. Contact our office to learn more!
